Chess Club with Wayne Spon

For Grades 3-5

Nine-week class

Join instructor Wayne Spon and learn one of the oldest games in the world. The class is for learning how to play the game from the beginning. Mr. Spon will teach the basics of how each piece moves, the rules of the game, opening principles, strategy and tactics.  The course will consist of teaching fundamentals for the first 30 minutes and then playing what was taught in the last 30 minutes.  At the end of the fall session, there will be a tournament among the students. Students who have a basic knowledge of the game are invited because they will strengthen their skills.
